This morning, after not nearly enough sleep, I got up with the kiddos for their first day of school.
I forgot to take photos, so I snapped some with my phone in the car, which led me to the idea of documenting this day for my blog.
Darby absolutely loves school, so she couldn’t have been more excited to start middle school!
Justice and Jarvis – well, Justice will be using Andrew’s Jeep after Andrew deploys, but we planned for them to ride the bus until then (for a couple weeks). The school told me their bus number, and where it’d be at 6:40, and that they should be there at 6:30 on the first day. They got to the bus stop at 6:28… and I picked them up at 7:18 when passing by on my way to drop Darby off! A neighbor said that last year, the bus was always early, and it probably came closer to 6:20. Poor guys!! They could have slept another freaking hour!!!!!
When I got home, Andrew and Jacob and Paige were still asleep, so I laid on the couch to nurse Vega. I even got 13 minutes of sleep in!
I was supposed to go walking with a friend at 9:00, so I dragged myself off the couch. Paige woke up right before 9, so I put her in the bed with Andrew until I got back. (yes, Jacob and Paige usually sleep until at least 8:30 or 9).
I got my shoes on and put Vega in the Moby Wrap, and texted my friend. She had totally forgotten, so I figured me and Vega would trek it alone. I managed to walk 1.17 miles according to my run tracker. And I did it in just over 25 minutes! I know, I’m ridiculously fast.
Vega was getting fussy in that photo – she usually loves walks, but just wanted to go home and eat today!
I almost forgot, this gem of a personalized license plate was in front of us at the high school this morning:
Once home, I wrangled Paige and Jacob together for a late breakfast (Andrew was sleeping in after a horrible night’s sleep – he’s on vacation from work).
Paige was being sweet…
And Jacob was helping with Vega.
Then Paige was being defiant, so I put her in the corner while nursing Vega. She was playing with Vega’s tag blanket, so I made her put it down and not play – so she put her hands behind her back: (the hair has remnants of French braids, which is why it looks like this)
Vega hasn’t wanted to be put down much the past couple of days, so to get her to take a decent nap, I sent Jacob and Paige to watch a cartoon upstairs while I lie here on the couch blogging on my phone while Vega sleeps on me.
Now it’s time for lunch, so I’ll go ahead a give you part 1 of how my Monday is going! How was your Monday morning?

No doubt the Darbster is going to have some middle school admirers. She is so cute on her 1st day

I’m sure Justice and Jarvis will also have their fair share of giggly girls
Have I told you just how much I loathe personal license plates. That pic added immensely to my hatred
Paige, Jacob & Little Ms Vega are too cute. Glad my kids aren’t the only ones who have to do “corner time.”
